About the Urban Land Institute

The Urban Land Institute is a global nonprofit education and research institute supported by its members. Its mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in sustaining and creating thriving communities worldwide. Established in 1936, the Institute has almost 42,000 members worldwide, representing the entire spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines working in private enterprise and public service.

Across Asia Pacific, the Institute has more than 2,000 members, with a particularly strong presence in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Philippines, and Singapore. By building and sustaining a diverse network of local experts in the region, the Institute is able to address the current and future challenges facing cities in the Asia Pacific region.

ULI Hong Kong is the one of the strongest National Council in Asia Pacific with nearly 500 members from the private and public sectors representing all disciplines within real estate. It is led by an Executive Committee of senior industry figures who volunteer their time to deliver programming specific to Hong Kong. Throughout the year, ULI Hong Kong hosts an active and diverse programme of high quality seminars, property tours and research that draw on and share global best practices. ULI Hong Kong also has an active Young Leaders group and Women’s Leadership Initiative. In 2018, ULI Hong Kong also introduced an education initiative, UrbanPlan, to high school students.
