David Buffonge is . An award-winning architect and urban designer with over 20 years of experience in international architecture and urban design, David’s passion for shaping the built environment and awareness of the contextual influences of a location has contributed to his involvement in the design of many prominent buildings throughout Asia.
David currently heads up Lead8’s architecture team, focusing on large scale mixed-use developments and airport terminals. David’s illustrious career includes many number of projects in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia, including ION Orchard & Residences, Plaza Singapura and Westgate in Singapore, Elements Mall Hong Kong and Changi Airport Terminal 4. David’s current ongoing projects are located in Hong Kong, China, Thailand and Singapore.
With his extensive experience in Retail Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, Masterplanning, High Density Vertical Mixed-Use Development, Transport Oriented Development (TOD) and Airport Terminals, David is a keen observer of changing typologies of mixed-use design, and more specifically, he brings a combination of commercial awareness and sustainable place making principles that embody the ingredients for places to thrive and make a positive impact on the built environment.
David is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and Hong Kong Institute of Architects.
